Ever since I can remember, I have always been an iced coffee lover. While I do have my all-time usual, I also love trying out iced coffee bestsellers from other coffee shops. Recently, I tried Because Coffee by Harlan + Holden in BGC. You won't miss this cafe as it is perfectly placed by the corner of One Bonifacio Mall and in front of the crossing of BGC Central Square. From the outside of the coffee shop's glass windows, you can see the high ceiling interior and its gorgeous minimalist design.
As you enter, you'll see their counter which holds their Modbar, an under-the-counter espresso machine technology. They are the first in the country, btw.
Their coffee/drinks ranges from Php110-180.
Ordering here, I have to say, is an experience. They only offer cashless transactions! You may order through their tablets at the counter and pay via debit/credit card or PayMaya. Don't worry, the bartenders are there to assist you incase you need help! Another payment option is through their mobile app. Order via the Harlan Holden app, pay online, and pick up your order at the cafe after a few minutes. How uniquely convenient! It's my first time to experience a cash-free establishment! That being said, usually they don't have a long line of people getting their orders. I also learned if you order through the app, you can even get a Php20-30 discount. I will definitely give this a try on my next visit.
Fo their coffee, you may choose from light, medium, dark, or decaf. My favorite, Iced Sea Salt Latte, is actually influenced by David Guison’s IG stories—thanks for the reco! The first time I tried it, oh my it didn’t disappoint! It’s best to drink without a straw and without stirring; just sip from the cup so you can taste the goodness of sea salt cream on top while enjoying your coffee.
Oh and by the way, even their cold drinks are served in pretty paper cups! This self-service counter has the cup covers, straws, stirrers, tissue, sweeteners, condiments, etc.
They also offer pastries which are affordably priced, but I have yet to try! The hand pie on the right-most looks good!
Quality coffee, relaxing vibe; this place is great for getting your quick coffee fix, hanging out by yourself or with your date/friends, or when you have to work too (wifi is available).
